Ok, so I love me a good mafia read, so saw the blurb on this and was really intrigued, I haven’t seen a book written before like this one, from the Mistress’ point of view.
The book starts with a prologue, and after reading this I knew I was in for a rough bumpy and emotional ride, but didn’t guess just how much!!
Julietta is a down to earth woman, hard working (she’s a nurse), sexy, sassy and doesn’t take any crap from anyone. She and her BFF Celia are at a new nightclub, reknown to be owned by the Mafia, as they decide to have a laugh and pull faces for the security cameras.
This catches the attention of Mafia Boss and owner Rafael, who sets off to ‘rescue’ her from a horde of drooling men on the dance floor. But Julietta doesn’t know who Rafael is, knows he’s probably mafia, but just not who.
Their attraction is instantaneous!!
This is the kind of man you would pay to ride all night long, without hesitation.
They end up meeting later, he persuades her to come back to the control room and they have mind blowing sex, without him letting on just who he is, until his brother comes in and calls him ‘Boss’ – Julietta runs out leaving her purse behind.
He tracks her down, and asks her to be his mistress as he is already married – an arranged type marriage where she is supposed to provide sons to carry on the family tradition. There are just two rules to this :-
1: Don’t fall in love with me
2: And don’t EVER under any circumstances, mention who I am or what I do.
And so it begins!!
I loved this!! Fantastically well written, I was utter captivated, the story flows and the pages just keep on turning. Told from both Julietta and Rafael’s point of view, you get to see a side of the mafia that you have not seen before.
I loved Rafael, hot, hard, domineering, sexy as hell, but you also get to see a softer side of him when he’s with Julietta, sweet, loving, funny, caring. Julietta and her sass really get to him, no one stands up to him like she does.
Lots of twists and turns in the plot, lots going on, secrets, killings, I could not read fast enough!!! Loved these characters and how their relationship develops to become more. Quite an emotional roller coaster with an ending that had me shouting at the Kindle!!
I can’t wait for the next book!! Jeez, I hope it won’t be long!!
