My Review

Ok, I’ve had to give myself a day or two after reading this to formulate a decent review, as this book got me well and truly – I was utterly enthralled. I’ve read read Priest and Midnight Mass, so knew how hot Simone’s writing was, but must say this blew me away. I also must point out that I thought this was a standalone when I read it, didn’t know it was a trilogy until I got to the end, which utterly killed me as it is one hell of a cliffhanger and I was totally not ready for this – screaming NOOOO!! at your Kindle at 02:00 in the morning with the kids in bed, can you imagine!!!

Anyway, I digress, this book – I’m not really into politics, does nothing for me, but this story-line was intriguing and enthralling set around The President and the United States and the goings on thereof.

Greer, our heroine, grew in surrounded by politics, her Grandfather being Vice President Leo Galloway, so she’s used to the drama and intrigue, but is also shy and conservative, being in her cousins shadow. A chance meeting at 16yrs old with and older (10 yrs older) soldier, Captain Maxen Ashley Colchester leaves her full of want, lust and awakens her sexual side.

Maxen Ashley Colchester (Ash / Sir / Mr President), is utterly alpha – power flows out of him, he’s domineering, hot, sexy and utterly thrown after meeting Greer, finding out her age after being ignited by pure lust, and leaves to carry on his soldiering career.

10 yrs pass before they properly meet again, he is now the President, but neither have forgotten their chance encounter, or know how it has shaped each other’s lives.

But there is a third person involved here, Vice President Embry. I’m not going to say how he is involved, but involved he is, in a spectacular way!!

A real page turner this was!! Captivated from the first chapter until the last, I had to just keep reading, only putting it down to fan myself after reading some of the VERY HOT and steamy sexy scenes, phew!!! But there is a lot more to this than just the sexy scenes, lots of intrigue, politics, love, lust, deceit, lies, heart break and angst. Brilliantly done, the story just flows, flitting backwards and forwards in time so that you keep pace with what has happened in their lives. Seriously I cannot wait for the next one in this series. Sooo good!!! Everyone should give this a read – but be warned, the sexy scenes are explicit and contains BDSM, M/F, M/F, M/M/F, but don’t let this put you off, I loved it and the characters and can’t wait for more.
