Riot (Scarred Souls #4)
by Tillie Cole
Release date : 7th March 2017
BRUTAL. INTENSE. PASSIONATE. THE WORLD OF THE SCARRED SOULS.
They call me 901. I am a monster, a killer, a champion. In the blood pit I am a god. I have no name, no family, and no identity. When master says fight, I fight…until I am the only one left standing. I have one goal, to fight so well that I am freed. I don’t need friends, I don’t need women. They are weaknesses. I am strong.
Until I see her. She is gorgeous and kind and off-limits to me. She was stolen as a child to be the worst type of slave and now master wants her. What he wants, he gets. With a smile, she melts my brutal heart. I have never wanted anything more.
I need to make a choice. Freedom or Love. I cannot choose wrong.
OMG this series has just been phenomenal, and Riot is no exception!! I have loved each and every one of them, each so very individual in their storylines and yet so connected as well. Something about those tortured fighters only being able to be reached by that one woman calls to me. The men are so Alpha, domineering, possessive and over the top – but in these storylines this really works, and is incredibly HAWT!!
This is the story of 152 (194/Valentin’s sister), taken with her brother and raised to be a Mona, but she has been noticed by Master Arziani, who wants her all to himself.
901 is the Blood Pit’s undefeated champion, frightened of nothing or no one, including Master Arziani. This is creating a problem for the Crime Boss, as 901 is not following orders to make this kills drawn out and give the spectators something to watch.
Its not until 152 appears on the arm of Master Arziani, capturing the attention of 901 with her beauty, who fails to hide his appreciation from his Master, that a plan starts to form in Master Arziani’s head, of using 152 to get to 901, and to bring him to heel.
“He placed his hand over his heart and said, “You have made me feel, in here. You have made me want things I never dare let myself want. You have made me want to fight for survival, not pride. I no longer want to die on the pit’s sand, like a warrior. I no longer I want to die at all … You make me want to live.”
Valentin is still determined to free his sister from the Blood Pit, and along with Zaal and Luka plans are afoot to bring down the Blood Pit and Master Arziani once and for all.
A brilliant storyline yet again, although different to the others in this series, as the majority of the story takes place within the Blood Pit whilst they are still captive, unlike the other books where they are freed quite early on. I love the feels between 901 and 152, how 901 tries to resist his feelings, how 152 finds herself caring for the most brutal of warriors yet underneath this he is sweet and caring towards her.
“I had a choice,” he argued. Then, with a surprising tenderness, he pressed three light kisses along my neck. When he raised his head, he said, “I chose to take you. I chose to hold you close.” He inhaled. “I chose to make you mine.”
I read this in one sitting, devouring the pages, it really had me on the edge of my seat, unsure of how this would all end. Dark, gritty, violent with lots of abuse dealt out, this series is not for the faint hearted – but I have loved every minute of it. Another highly recommended read from Tillie Cole.

Raze (Scarred Souls #1)
by Tillie Cole
To take back life, one must first face death . . .
Conditioned in captivity to maim and kill, prisoner 818 becomes an unstoppable fighter in the ring. Violence is all he knows. Death and brutality are the masters of his fate.
After years of incarceration in an underground hell, only one thought occupies his mind: revenge. Revenge on the man who wronged him, condemned him and turned him into this: a rage-fueled killing machine.
Kisa Volkova, daughter of the head of New York’s Russian bratva, lives a protected but unhappy life. As manager of The Dungeon, her father’s underground fighting and gambling syndicate in Brooklyn, grief and pain fill her days. As well as her domineering father, Kisa’s fiancé Alik controls every aspect of her life, dominating her every move, until one night changes everything.
After a chance encounter with a beautiful, tattooed man on the street, Kisa stumbles into a world of feeling and desire as yet unknown to her. And when this man is announced as The Dungeon’s newest fighter, her life is turned upside down.
Kisa becomes obsessed with him, yearns for him, needs to possess this mysterious man beyond saving . . . the man they call Raze.
This is a love story with a difference, dark, raw, gritty and utterly captivating. Based around the Russian mafia and its families and death ring fighting.
Kisa the Russian Mafia Princess is owned by her fiancé Alik – a champion in the death ring, but he is brutal and unstable, Kisa being the only person keeping him sane.
“They were always meant to be together, one boy and one girl, two hearts split into two, sent to far-off lands on their own. For God wanted to see if true love could be tested. He wanted to see if two halves of one soul could find each other again, even against the odds. Years would pass. They would both be hurt. They would both be sad, but one day, when they least expected it, they would stumble into each other’s paths. The question is: would they recognize each other’s soul? And would they find their way back to love…?”
818 fighter Raze is a killing machine, kept in the Gulag for fighting, his only previous memories or thoughts are that of Revenge for something Alik has done.
“My Kisa-Anna… my solnyshko… God put a piece of your blue eyes in mine so we would always know we matched…”
The plot is fantastic, building between the characters. I couldn’t put this book down with its twists and turns in the plot. This is a must read book – another stunner by Tillie Cole.
Reap (Scarred Souls #2)
by Tillie Cole
The sensational second installment of the SCARRED SOULS series
#Raze #RazeHell #ScarredSouls
Raised as a prototype for the Georgian bratva‘s obedience drug, 221 fails to think, act or live for himself; he is his master’s perfectly crafted killing puppet. Standing at 6’6, weighing two-hundred and fifty pounds, and unrivalled in to-the-death combat, 221 successfully secures business for the Georgian Mafiya Boss of NYC, in the dark world of the criminal underground. Until his enemies capture him.
Talia Tolstaia dreams to break from the heavy clutches of bratva life. She dreams of another life – away from the stifling leash of her Russian bratva boss father and from the brutality of her work at The Dungeon – her criminal family’s underground death match enterprise. But when she stumbles upon her family’s captive who is more monster than man, she starts to see the man underneath. A powerful, beautiful, damaged man whose heart calls to hers.
But sacrifices must be made: blood for blood . . life for life . . Souls for scarred souls . .
Omg I loved this!!! Meet 221, twin brother of 362, Luka’s best friend and savior in the gulag, who he ended up killing at the end of Raze to save Kisa. Both captured and experimented on since they were children. 221 is completely under his Masters control via drugs and is a killing machine.
Luka keeps his promise to 362 and rescues 221, but is there anything of the boy/man left inside the killing machine that is 221?!
“He’d come into my life like a storm. A storm I didn’t want, one I’d prepared all my life to hate, to fight. But it brought with it refreshing rain. It cleared the skies and brought out only warmth. Zaal was saving me, liberating me from loneliness.”
A brutal tale, harrowing and very emotional at times. 221/Zaal meets Talia and sparks fly. The storyline unfolds with lots of twists and turns, that had me an emotional wreck, from such brutality, to yearning, lust, anger, betrayal, I just couldn’t put the book down!
“Talia sobbed as I leaned down to kiss her soft, wet mouth, repeating, “You are … for me, you are … for me…” Then Talia holding my face and whispering back, “I am … for you, Zaal … eternally. I am forever … for you…”
Fabulously dark and brutal with pure soul shattering love thrown in – ‘You are….. for me?’ Made my heart squeeze!! Must read.
Ravage (Scarred Souls #3)
by Tillie Cole
The thrilling third installment of USA Today bestselling author Tillie Cole’s #ScarredSouls series.
Is finding one’s true love worth committing the greatest sacrifice of all?
Taken as a teen, prisoner 194 was stripped of his name and freewill, meticulously honed to be a ruthless machine. Even as he tries to fight his captors’ hold on him, he knows that obedience is the only way to save his sister, who is the one person that keeps him from turning into a monster.
As a young girl Zoya Kostava barely escaped the brutal attack that killed her entire family. Now twenty five she lives in secrecy. That is until she hears her brother also survived and is living with their greatest enemy.
Zoya risks her safety and anonymity to find the brother she thought dead and is captured by a beautiful, brutal man. A man who both captivates and scares her, in him she sees a soul as lost as her own.
They both have so much to lose – will they be able to save each other . . . and survive?
Wow, another fantastic book by Tillie Cole. This has been a fabulous dark twisted series from the word go, a fantastically unique story with characters that really reach into your heart and soul, characters that are dark and brutal due to their past experiences, broken, shattered, that need healing and love.
This book picks up straight after Reap, and is the story of 194. Taken as a child along with his sister 152 by the Night Wraiths, they are experimented on with drugs, 194 is turned into a killing machine and 152 into a sex slave. But 194 has retained his memories and has vowed to keep his promise and rescue his sister.
“My skin pricked at the understanding in her voice. She’d spoken to me. She hadn’t talked at me or through me or commanded me. She’d talked to me. Like I was someone worth talking to. Like I was human. Not a killer beast.”
194 gets a new job, to capture Zaal any way he can. He ends up capturing a Georgian woman who turns his world upside down. Zoya is Zaal’s long lost sister, who has been in hiding for years til word of Zaal’s release, whom she goes to find, and is captured by 194.
I’m not giving any more of the story away. You need to read it for yourself. I loved Zoya and 194/Valentin, such broken characters yet strong, both finding that something in each other to be able to overcome their pasts and learn to love.
“He watched me, his breathing heavy and strained, when I whispered, “You have stolen my first kiss.” A flurry of feelings swarmed in my stomach. Loss and pain warring with delight and lust. I didn’t know what to feel, I didn’t know whether to feel happiness or betrayal, until Valentin threaded his fingers between mine and countered in a hushed voice, “And you have stolen mine.”
There is some dark brutality in this book as in the others in this series, but it works fantastically well in the story. It really takes you on a emotional roller coaster, very intense at times even savage, but then heart breaking to soul crushing happiness, fabulous!! I couldn’t put this down, seriously, the kids daren’t come near me, I was gripped!! Can’t wait for the next book!!
About the Author
Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother — a farmer’s daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.
Having been born and raised as a Teesside Smoggie, Tillie, at age nineteen, moved forty miles north to the ‘Toon’, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where she attended Newcastle University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Religious Studies. She returned two years later to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching High School Social Studies. Tillie, regards Newcastle to be a home from home and enjoyed the Newcastle Geordie way of life for seven ‘proper mint’ and ‘lush’ years.
One summers day, after finishing reading her thousandth book on her much loved and treasured Kindle, Tillie turned to her husband and declared, “D’you know, I have a great idea for a story. I could write a book.” Several months later, after repeating the same tired line at the close of another completed story, she was scolded by her husband to shut up talking about writing a novel and “just bloody do it!” For the first time in eleven years, Tillie actually took his advice (he is still trying to get over the shock) and immediately set off on a crazy journey, delving deep into her fertile imagination.
Tillie, ever since, has written from the heart. She combines her passion for anything camp and glittery with her love of humour and dark brooding men (most often muscled and tattooed – they’re her weakness!). She also has a serious side (believe it or not!) and loves to immerse herself in the complex study of World Religions, History and Cultural Studies and creates fantasy stories that enable her to thread serious issues and topics into her writing — yep, there’s more to this girl than profanity and sparkles!
After six years of teaching high school Social Studies and following her Professional Rugby Player husband around Europe, they have finally given up their nomadic way of life and settled in Calgary, Alberta where Tillie spends most of her days (and many a late night) lost in a writing euphoria or pursuing a dazzling career as a barrel-racing, tasselled-chap wearing, Stetson-sporting cowgirl… Ye-haw!
