Publication date: January 23rd 2017
Genres: Contemporary, Erotica, Romance

I don’t do relationships… especially not with egotistical jerks like my new boss, Damian Wood. The man is vile, arrogant, condescending… and scorching hot. If he weren’t my boss and a grade-A a*&hole, I would turn on my world-famous charm and seduce the pants right off the man. But giving in to his undeniable allure might just cost me my job. Or worse yet, my heart.

I’m a prick…and Janice Holder’s new boss. Which means I should stay away, but I’ve never claimed to be a nice guy. If I don’t get my twisted fascination under control, it will only be a matter of time before I bend her over my desk and screw her. Hard. The way I’ve imagined no fewer than a thousand times since we met. I’m playing with fire and neither of us can afford to get burned, but landing in hot water might just be worth the risk.

Faking It is a full-length, standalone office romance. It contains steamy scenes with a ton of heat and strong language intended for mature audiences.

Excerpt:

He slid in beside me, too close for comfort, but I refused to cower in the corner. Damp locks of his hair hung over his eyes. I must have been getting a contact high from his musky, masculine scent, because I had the strange urge to brush them aside.

“What about you? I don’t normally see you here after hours. Or after twelve noon.”

I turned to face him and forced a smile. His casual posture and grin seemed at odds with his snide comment. “What are you implying?”

“It’s out of character for you to be here on a Friday night. I thought you’d be out trolling a bar for your next unsuspecting victim.”

Obviously, Damian had been spending too much time gossiping with Cindy. He made it sound like I was some sort of succubus. Which was ridiculous, because I preferred my men awake. And they were always more than willing.

The blush that crept up my neck and tears that stung my eyes pissed me off more than his words.

“Why the sad face, Janice? Someone stand you up?”

My mouth dropped open and I fought the urge to smack the smirk right off his face. “Is that why you don’t like me? Because you’ve heard I’m a proficient dater?”

He threw his head back and laughed. The sound tickled me in places it shouldn’t have. Maybe because I’d never heard him laugh outright. Before I could consider it further, he took an unsettling step closer. Even though I had on three-inch heels, he still towered over me.

“I have no problem with the fact you get around. But when your daytime exploits start to hinder your work, I take notice.”

He assumed I was missing work because I was out screwing guys?

“Do you have a problem with my performance?”

“Not your performance. Your work ethic.”

“You can’t be serious. I do more in a few hours than some of my coworkers do all day.”

“Exactly. Imagine what you could accomplish if you stuck around for eight hours.” His eyes flashed with wickedness and I still wasn’t sure if he was teasing me or being a complete asshole.

I was leaning towards asshole.

“Maybe if you were more accomplished at something other than work, you wouldn’t be walking around with a huge stick up your ass,” I said under my breath. I was probably committing career suicide, but after the way he’d treated me that morning, I didn’t care.

“Careful, Janice. I don’t think your tone’s in compliance with the company’s sensitivity training.”

For the first time since we’d met, his eyes sparkled with something other than disgust. If I had known challenging him would inspire respect, I would have called him out on his shit from day one.

“If anybody needs to re-take the sensitivity training, it’s you.”

He took another step closer, caging me into the corner so that our chests almost touched. I was sure he could hear the wild beating coming from mine.

“Possibly. Now workplace harassment… that’s probably something I should work on.”

  1. Wow! Sounds HOT! I’m a huge fan of enemies-to-lovers and witty-to-sarcastic banter. Thanks so much for sharing the excerpt and brief bio. This one has been bumped to the top of my TBR pile.
