My Review:

This is book 3 in the Thrust series – now I haven’t read the first two books in this series, so have read it from a Standalone view point, there are some obvious characters and crossovers to her other books, but it didn’t detract from the story one little bit. After reading this I will definitely read the first two books from this series.

This is not a fairytale romance – this is a dark gritty story! Dane is ex-Marines, a hired gun and an occasional escort, but does not offer a repeat service in either of those, once is all you get!!

He arrives home early after a hit to find beautiful woman in his home. Irina is on the run from her husband, an arms dealer, who she has been with since she was 18, and has trained and conditioned her with abuse, degradation, violence and sex to make her his submissive slave. He is all she knows, and when confronted with a hugely hot dominant Alpha like Dane she is scared. Dane is instantly attracted to her, she has survivor written all over her that calls to him, but she is broken in many ways, and she tests his control on many levels.

This is action packed and fast paced, happening in only a very short time frame. The attraction between them is undeniable, but Dane had given up on finding himself a relationship and Irina has been abused so much so no longer believes in love, or that she is worthy of receiving it. Trust, courage and strength are needed on both sides for any progress to be made – and its a beautiful thing to watch as it builds between them!

Wonderfully written, you can’t help but fall for Dane and his hot Alpha ways as he in turn falls for Irina, how protective and caring he is of her…. A gripping read throughout, I couldn’t put it down and thoroughly recommend giving it and the series a go!
