My Review:

This is my first book by Safari Spell, I was very intrigued by the blurb, it sounded quite a different kind of PNR read, so was all for giving it a go!!

Taylor has had some hard knocks in life – she has lost her mum and her dad burned down their house and is in a mental institution. She is currently living with her Grandma, but is struggling through college having to work at a nursery in the local gym to get by. She fancies the pants off her new co-worker in the gym, Sage, but he is very distant and doesn’t talk to her much, but she is determined to get closer to him!

Sage turns out to be the lead singer in a band, as well as working in the gym, and has lots of other secrets. He is drawn to Taylor, and when they eventually get together, she finds out things about the world she never dreamed was possible.

I’m a little on the fence with this book – it had so much potential, but seems to have got lost!! It took ages for me to get into the book, the background gave very little to go on and just jumped straight into the story. The middle part of the story was good and seemed to flow very well and I started to enjoy it. But the end seemed to come round very quickly, lots of loose ends and magical hybrid creatures springing up everywhere. Lots of stuff was going on for you to keep up with, maybe too much. Saying that I need to read the next book as I want to know how it all ends and ties together!! A 3.5 star read.
