“Bromberg is a master at turning up the heat.”
—New York Times bestselling author Katy Evans
Worth the Risk, an all-new, sexy standalone about taking chances and finding love when it’s least expected, from New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg, is LIVE!
This whole contest was supposed to be easy. I know, I know. Famous last words.
It’s a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you’ve seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I’m successful, if I’m able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job.
But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number ten, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell?
Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. And while we might be older now, I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart, who hardened him, and who left him alone to raise the cutest little boy I’ve ever seen.
But I don’t want a relationship. And I definitely don’t fall for single dads with baggage. Even ones with chiseled abs and killer smiles.
But he got to me. They got to me. Him and his son and their messy, crazy life. But I got to him too. I see the stolen glances. I feel the walls he built start to crumble. I recognize that there’s an unexpected beauty to the chaos in his life.
And now that the contest is about to end, we’re left to decide whether the last six months were just fun or if what we have is worth risking it all?
My ARC Review:
The 3rd book in the Everyday Heroes series and this is all about Grayson Malone, the single dad of the three Malone brothers, I’ve been waiting for this one since reading Cuffed, and it didn’t disappoint, it’s a fabulous read!!
Grayson has been burnt in the passed, married to a rich stuck up woman who left him and his son rather than loose her inheritance. Now its his son, Luke, and him against the world. He’s had a few one night stands to take the edge off, but nothing more, as Luke sees a new Mum in every woman he comes into contact with, and Grayson doesn’t want Luke getting attached and breaking his heart. Its not until he finds out he’s been entered in the local Hot Dad contest and a blast from his past turns up at his door that things start to change.
Sidney was the local rich kid and went to school with Grayson, but had no time for him. She now works for Daddy’s magazines but has been sent back to her hometown to turn the local family magazine around and increase its profits. She turns up at Grayson’s door to interview him for the Hot Dad contest, but Grayson remembers who she is and what she was like, and having been burnt by one spoilt rich brat wants nothing to do with another one!!
Its a great story, one of enemies to lovers, along with the single dad theme which I’m loving at the moment, can’t get enough of these!! There’s some real push and pull going on in this, lots of sexual tension!! Grayson has a big chip on his shoulder, which is understandable with what he’s been through and Sidney has a lot of learning and growing up to do, but watching them get there is worth it!! Luke stole the show though, that little kid and his desire to have a new mum, so adorable!! Well worth the read!!
