Series: Knotted #1
Release Date: August 31, 2018
They call me brutal. They call me unrepentant. They call me possessive. I am all these things and much worse. But to her, the pretty, golden-haired Omega on display, I will be conqueror.
The Golden Line is a dark, sinister Omegaverse romance for those with twisted tastes and a love for unabashed bad boys. Complete power exchange dominates these pages, as does a smoking-hot Alpha hero you will adore.
My Book Review:
Oh my goodness, Addison has done it again, how on earth do these Omegaverse stories just keep getting better and better??!! This one knocked it out of the park for me, I loved it!!
This was originally a novella length story in the Royally Mine anthology titled Consumed, that short story is no longer available and this has now been reworked, added to and edited extensively to produce this full length novel The Golden Line, book 1 in the Knotted series. This was my review for Consumed:
Have you read Addison’s Alpha Claim series??? It’s blend of dystopia / horror / sci fi / captive/captor & dark erotic, all set in a very descriptive apocalyptic world type setting, quite unlike anything I had read before – I was hooked on this series within the first few pages – well ‘Consumed’ is set within the same ‘Omegaverse’ setting, but is completely different and a standalone. So if you have not read the Alpha Claim series this is the perfect introduction into their world.
This is all about Morgaine who has been raised on a Beta colony, hiding her Omega nature from the Alphas until she is captured. She is treated as ‘feral’ and needs training in the Omega ways, which are completely alien to her. Yes this is a dark read, but the feels you get from Morgaine as she is thrust into this new life, her despair, confusion and her fear. I loved it!!! In fact I was so engrossed in the story that when I got to “To be continued…..” I think I flipped, and very nearly launched my kindle through the nearest window. I was so not ready for that to end there!!!! I can’t wait to read the continuation of this. 5 beautifully dark stars.
So I couldn’t wait to read The Golden Line, and devoured it I did, thoroughly enjoying the story and how its been added to, making it even better if possible.
I still felt very deeply for Morgaine and all she had been through, but Simin was wonderful with her, he wanted to rebuild her shattered soul and give his soul to her. Simin is a different Alpha in this Omegaverse, don’t get me wrong his is still very Alpha, dominant, controlling and hugely sexual, but Morgaine is his mate, he is thinking of her, wants whats best for her, will do anything for her, even though he is a Prince he is willing to place her needs much higher than his own – this is a much softer side to the Alpha’s than we’re used to seeing, and for me it worked perfectly in this scenario, making me love him all the more!. The language barrier and the inability to communicate effectively with each other was also central to this storyline, both having to try and recognise body language and emotions without being able to rely on any verbal cues meaning much more care was having to be taken, especially by Simin.
Of course there is a lot of erotic and highly sexual scenes throughout, some dark and brutal, so be warned.
Brilliantly done, I loved the ending and sit waiting with baited breath and drooling a little for the next book in this series. Addison and her Omegaverse are fast becoming one of my favorite series reads!! Another 5 beautifully dark stars.
USA Today Bestselling author and Amazon Top 50 bestselling author, Addison Cain is best known for her dark romances, smoldering Omegaverse, and twisted alien worlds. Her antiheroes are not always redeemable, her lead females stand fierce, and nothing is ever as it seems.
Deep and sometimes heart wrenching, her books are not for the faint of heart. But they are just right for those who enjoy unapologetic bad boys, aggressive alphas, and a hint of violence in a kiss.
