Mated to the Alien #8
by Kate Rudolph
Genre: SciFi Romance
She’s hunting a bounty, not a mate…
Vita Minnick has one job: hunt down lowlifes who owe her boss money and deliver them for a profit. When a ticket for Braxtyn NaZade comes up it should be a job just like any other. But from the moment she sees him, Vita can’t help but think he’s… different. She’s not going to fall for one of her marks, but what if there’s been a mistake?
Brax doesn’t owe anyone anything…
When a masked woman steals him away from Earth, Brax knows he’s in trouble. At first, he just wants to go home. But when he catches sight of the red headed huntress all his plans change. Who would have thought his fated mate would be the one to abduct him?
When a betrayal rocks Vita’s identity to the core, she and Brax will need to work together to get to the bottom of the mystery… and to get justice. But can a Detyen claim a bounty hunter who refuses to be tied down? Brax might have found his denya, but he’ll need to convince her he’s worth the risk… before they both perish.
Read Braxtyn for fated mates, a heart-melting hero, a tough and world-weary heroine and adventures that are out of this world!
Braxtyn is the eighth book in the Mated to the Alien series about a race of aliens doomed to die if they don’t meet their fated mates. The series can be read in any order and there are no cliffhangers!
“Not many tourists in these parts,” she had to say. “But she’s looking for a trip alright. To your bed.”
Brax looked at her funny and then glanced back at the woman. Was he considering it? Had he not noticed? Vita had no hold on him and there was no reason to stop him from having a bit of fun. There was even the possibility that the vendor would cut them a better deal if a few hours with Brax came with the package. And yet she had to clench her fist to keep from latching onto his arm and physically pulling him away.
“She’s bound to be disappointed then,” Brax said. “I’ve no interest.”
In bedding the vendor? In bedding anyone? Vita bit her tongue to keep from asking. It was inappropriate, she reminded herself. She had kidnapped the man. She didn’t get to invite him to her bed when he was dependent on her.
“Then we should move on. There’s much to find and not much time.” There. That sounded completely sane and not at all possessive.
But when Brax put his hand on her back as if he were the one leading her through the market, she didn’t try and push him away. And if she smiled sweetly back at the Caystan woman as they left, well, that was just her being friendly.
Yeah, she wasn’t fooling anyone there.
This is the second book in this series I have read, it follows on immediately from the previous book, but again is easily read as a standalone.
Braxtyn and his twin brother Dekon along with Shayn and his new Denya Naomi have moved to Earth to settle there, in the hope that maybe they can all find their fated mates maybe on Earth. Whilst exploring the city Braxtyn gets abducted by a bounty hunter….. it seems he owes a gambling debt to her boss and she has tracked him down to take him in. Braxtyn protests his innocence and feels an unfamiliar pull towards his abductor, who turns out to be his Denya.
Vita has had a hellish life so far, having been a slave, been beaten and abused and then has ended up being a bounty hunter. Never again will she relinquish any control over her life to anyone, she is her own boss in charge of herself now. When Braxtyn learns that Vita is his, and learns just what she has been through, he must be careful not to frighten her away, she must be the one to come to him on her own terms, else he will end up pushing her away due to her fears.
It turns out that there was a communication error with her equipment and Braxtyn is not the mark, her boss isafter, he is angry and fires her. They come up with a plan to find the correct mark and bring him to justice between the pair of them. Their journey is filled with danger, lies, subterfuge, more slave victims, a lack of money and the ship falling apart, to name but a few!!
Vita is a bit of a badass, she’s the fighter not Braxtyn, he’s good at fixing things, she’s good at killing! Vita is the one to make the moves on Braxtyn, he has to take a back seat knowing that she will come to him, with her horrid background she has to come to terms with wanting to be with Braxtyn, even though she is his fated mate, this relationship is more of a partnership.
Another good read in this series, I enjoyed this and will definitely read more from this author.

Shayn is the seventh book in the Mated to the Alien series about a race of aliens doomed to die if they don’t meet their fated mates. The series can be read in any order and there are no cliffhangers!
This was my first book by this author so hence the first in this series that I have read. I love a good alien read and this seems to fit the bill, a very enjoyable read, plenty of drama/suspense and passion. This was easily read as a standalone, not having read any of the others, which didn’t matter, you do get to meet some of Shayn’s brothers but it is not necessary to have the backstory to understand what is going on.
Shayn, like his brothers, is half Detyen / half Oscavian, and are ‘cursed’ to die when they reach 30 unless they find their fated mate, their Denya. Being a half breed, they are not sure if this curse applies and so travels to a research facility in Oscavia in the hope of finding out more. During his first few hours there, whilst looking around, he feels an unmistakable pull that takes him to another patient there, his Denya!
Naomi has been at the facility since she became an orphan many years ago. She has psychic abilities which Dr Pitner believes they can improve, so she has been tested, poked and prodded for years, not knowing anything else in her life. Until she meets Shayn at the facility and feel an immediate attraction to him, being drawn to him, but she is unsure why. She has some nasty and unsettling visions involving both her and Shayn and knows they are in danger and have to leave the facility. They face a lot of difficulties together and have lots of obstacles to overcome, they are in danger and are pursued and have to fight to be together.
A good read, I enjoyed it, plenty of action and suspense along with heat and passion. I look forward to reading more in this series.
