Jay McLean ~ Leo ~ Release Blitz / Teasers / Giveaway / ARC Review

LEO by Jay McLean is live!! Don’t miss the third book in the New Adult/Coming of Age Series, The Preston Brothers!!

One single summer changed them forever, and one moment of devastating silence destroyed it all.

Growing up with six siblings, Leo Preston has always struggled to find his voice.

While his brothers are loud, greedy, and somewhat obnoxious, Leo is forever the quiet one.

The thinker.

The listener.

He watches his life pass by as an outsider in his own world, absent and alone.

Until he finds her.

For Leo, Mia Kovács is like a prize, a gift wrapped in passion and devotion.

And she’s his—his very own secret he doesn’t have to share.

Together, they can overcome anything…

heartache and destruction, guilt and regret.

Mia gives Leo everything he didn’t know he needed,

including her fragile heart.

The only thing she doesn’t give him…

are secrets of her own.

Jay McLean has such a writing talent, the books and the stories they tell really do speak to your heart and reach into your soul. The feelings and emotions that Jay evokes while you read her books are so strong and powerful, they can have you crying one minute, laughing the next, or just completely taking your breath away. Leo is no exception, it’s a stunning read, heartfelt, angsty, emotional and gut wrenching at times, yet at other moments it is light hearted and funny and will have you laughing your head off at the witty banter. Whilst this can easily be read as a standalone I recommend you read the previous 2 Preston Brothers books so you get a feel for the family background.

Mia comes to stay at the Preston house one summer, her mother works there as Nanny to the Preston children. All the boys are energetic and rambunctious as boys tend to be, except for Leo who was quiet and reserved. Mia was never included in the boys’ games until her and Leo struck up a friendship and they spent the rest of the summer being together, just the two of them, doing their own thing.

Mia returns to the Preston house the following summer wanting to spend more time with Leo, and in the end she plans to stay and go to school there with him, but some things in life just don’t quite work out.

This is a slow burn read that spans quite a few number of years, from their early teens until their 20’s. I loved Leo, he had a heart of gold and his love for Mia knew no boundaries, he loved her full stop. He was quiet and different, not speaking much but listening and taking in the world around him. Mia just seem to understand him and get him like nobody else did, she ruined him for anybody else, no one else compared to Mia.

I really felt for Mia, she goes through so much in this book, my heart broke for her several times. Mia deals with some strong issues in this story and she is such a brave and caring soul, her strength and her love for her family really shine through.

There is such a strong family theme in these stories, I love their friendships and how they interact with each other. There are some wonderful side characters in here you just can’t help but love, Mia’s Grandpa and her best friend Holden to name but two, as well as all of the Preston household.

I loved this, it’s a lengthy read but well worth the effort, one of my top reads so far this year. Not to be missed.

Writer. Reader. Mom. Wife. Master of awkward Sarcasm.

Jay McLean is a full-time reader, writer of New Adult and Young Adult romance, and skilled procrastinator. When she’s not doing any of those things, she can be found running after her three boys, investing way too much time on True Crime Documentaries and binge-watching reality TV.

She writes what she loves to read, which are books that can make her laugh, make her hurt and make her feel.

Jay lives in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, in her dream home where music is loud and laughter is louder.
