Maxx Reynolds needs help.

His shop, house, and life are all in a state of disarray.

In desperation, he turns to the internet to hire a new employee, thinking it will make his life easier.

What he expects is a fellow named Charly.

What he gets is a quirky, sassy, red-head name Charlynn who runs circles around him.

And she’s all woman.

He can’t stand her.

He can’t keep his hands off her either.

Excerpt:

“You’re a pain in the ass, anyone ever tell you that?”

“You’re a controlling jerk who refuses to admit he needs help.”

We were so close, I could feel her warm breath on my face. See the flecks of gray in the green of her eyes. I glared at her.

“You’re trying my patience, Red.”

“You’re pissing me off,” she retorted, jabbing at my chest with her pointy finger.

I grabbed her hand, and we both stared at it. Felt the heat bubbling in the air around us. Our gazes locked, and suddenly, my mouth was on hers. Demanding. Hard. Determined.

She yanked back, her breathing hard. “You’re an asshole.”

“I know.”

Then she flung her arms around my neck and kissed me back. She pulled me hard, yanking on my hair. I wrapped my arm around her, settling my hand on that spectacular ass, and dragging her close. Our tongues battled for dominance, neither of us giving an inch.

It was only the sound of a car door slamming out front that had us pulling apart. We faced each other, her lips swollen from our passion, her rapid breathing matching mine. My cock was hard and erect, pulsating with need.

She swallowed. “I’ll order that wipe-off board.”

I nodded. “Yeah, you do that.”

She turned and fled.

My ARC Review:

This was a fabulous read from Melanie, within the first few pages I had been sucked into the story and devoured it eagerly from start to finish, falling in love with the characters along the way. Maxx was totally hot and swoon worthy, his growly, possessive ways along with his motorcycle restoration skills had me laughing and swooning throughout the book. Charly was a breath of fresh air, determined, strong, sarky, sexy… I loved how she charmed everyone she met and knew just how to push Maxx’s buttons, with some fantastic results!

Maxx is a 37 yr mechanic having his own shop inherited from his dad, but his real love is motorcycle restoration. His car business is busy and he’s let things slide whilst working, like the office, paperwork, the house… he can’t cook for toffee, he needs some help, and places an ad to try and get some. Charly answers his ad, who he expects to be male, but he never expects a red haired fire cracker to turn up and blow his life to smithereens!

I loved the banter between these two, how determined Charly was to help Maxx out, how she pushes him to achieve his best, and how she organises his whole life and turns it around. Maxx is determined not to fall for the new help but the attraction between them is sizzling, as their first encounter proved when they did not know who one another were, but he is determined to try and keep it professional…. yeah right! Charly has a knack of pushing his buttons by wearing the most awesome of outfits, which just throw him into possessive Alpha mode while he rips them off her! Loved it, had me laughing numerous times!!

Maxx is growly and broody, which turns Charly on no end, so Maxx’s plan to stay away from her fails every time they have an altercation, as they just end up in a steamy situation instead! Maxx wasn’t interested in a relationship at all, but Charly was the light to his darkness, but with the age gap and them living in the middle of nowhere, would she ever be happy being with him?

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this one, it really brought a smile to my face, had me laughing, swooning, sighing, it really was fantastic. Not to be missed in my book for a thoroughly entertaining read.
