My ARC Review:

Book 4 in this series and this was a gripping read from start to finish!! We’re back at the Citadel with the members of the Order of the Phoenix and their fated mates with babies on the way…..

Emmett and Theo are partners in more ways than one, they are Dom/Sub lovers and are happy with each other, not particularly looking for a fated mate to join them. Whilst out of the Citadel on an errand they are drugged and captured, they wake to find themselves in a lab and are about to be experimented on!

Dr Riley Walker is there to study the two captives, huge gorgeous males who she believes are aliens, who she can’t help but have fantasies about like she reads on her ereader about! She is supposed to get samples from them, but Emmett and Theo are clever and leave no traces for them. Until higher up bosses decide to drug all three and put them together and watch their animal magnetism come to the fore! Little do Emmett and Theo know that Riley is not really there of her own accord either, but they do know that they have found their own fated mate!

But things go from bad to worse for this threesome even after they are freed, as Emmett and Theo believe Riley has deceived them and treat her accordingly whilst trying to get info from her. Things take a turn for the darker from here on in as the vampire Etienne, who we have met in previous books, turns up, with some rather nasty, evil and nefarious ideas planned out. This is not for the faint hearted, there are some nasty scenes in this….. captive / non-con / male rape, so be warned! Etienne is a proper evil character but the twists and turns in the plot and how and why he is connected with the members of the Order had me gasping!

There are some very hot and steamy M/M scenes throughout this that will get you hot and bothered, as well as F/M/M, some with BDSM undertones.

It was a captivating read, honestly I didn’t see the story line playing out the way it did, which was brilliantly done and has left me eagerly waiting for the next book in this series, which I am absolutely loving. Emmett and Theo’s connection is absolutely smoking hot and what they go through in this book was heartbreaking. Riley is such a unique character with her genetics and I can’t wait to see what happens to her in future books.
