Jane Henry ~ Lachlan ~ ARC Review / Teasers

Amazon

Fiona Hurton was too young when we first met.
Too naive.
Too innocent.
Too tempting.
I vowed to protect her, to keep her safe, and I have, for five long years.
Even when keeping her safe meant keeping my distance.
Even when the greatest threat to her innocence was me.
But Fiona’s not a girl anymore.
When danger’s at her door and we’re forced together, I won’t back down.
I’ll defend her. I’ll shield her. I’ll comfort and keep her.
Because Fiona Hurton is all grown up now.
And it’s time she realized… she’s mine.

My ARC Review:

Book 5 in this series, they are best read in order as they are interconnected, but can be read as a standalone.

Lachlan has had a thing for Fiona every since she was rescued with the rest of her family (in a previous book). Now she has just turned 18, no longer a child, no longer out of bounds but a woman in her own right, one he fights to stay away from.

The McCarthy family throw a party for her 18th birthday, all are there, including Lachlan, who she is more than attracted to, and she is hoping that now she is 18 he will do something about it. He gives her a present and insists she opens it away from her party. Turns out to be a gold locket with her inside, which she wears from then on. But she decides to visit the family ‘club’ with her friend, where she sees Lachlan with another woman. She decides its time to leave and go to Uni in Boston, where she can be near her brother, and away from Lachlan.

But it seems the McCarthy’s have enemies in Boston and Fiona is put in danger. Lachlan drops everything and flies out to make sure she is safe and protected from everyone but him. But they are in Boston and on their own and must make alliances with the Boston mafia, which means he must make Fiona his, which has consequences in the McCarthy family.

I loved Lachlan and Fiona’s connection, it was sizzling hot, and Lachlan become very dominant, possessive and protective of Fiona, but she has a fiesty nature, not easily submissive and Lachlan found he had to punish her to bring her in line, on several occasions, for her own good.

USA Today bestselling author Jane Henry pens stern but loving alpha heroes, feisty heroines, and emotion-driven happily-ever-afters. She writes what she loves to read: kink with a tender touch. Jane is a hopeless romantic who lives on the East Coast with a houseful of children and her very own Prince Charming.
