My ARC Review:
Laura’s books are always an enjoyable read, this romantic suspense is no exception, this one will keep you on your toes from the start!
Hallie was kidnapped as a child and held by a couple for six months while the man, Matt, forces her to pretend to be their daughter. She escapes and the people are caught, but her childhood is left in ruins, there are no normal firsts and parties for Hallie, she grows up in a very sheltered life.
10 years later and her kidnapper escapes and the police believe he will come after her. Sawyer is an ex-cop now a close protection officer, and it’s his job to look after Hallie, to be with her 24/7, until Matt is caught.
Hallie and Sawyer have a great connection, she has never felt as safe as when she is with Sawyer, and is doing lots of things with him she should have done growing up, like riding on his motorbike! A great mix of suspense and romance, but a very slow burn. Some good plot twists and turns that are not what you expect! A great read overall.
