Blurb:

When humans seem nothing more than prey, the hunters just might become the hunted…

Vampires wage a secret, merciless war for ownership of the city.

When Alexandra Hensley meets Dante Delavega, owner of the hottest nightclub in town, she has no idea how he will affect her life.

Alex learns Dante holds the key to her past. When she discovers what really happened to her parents, she unlocks a secret kept hidden since the First Fleet.

But no truth comes without a cost, and a secret of this magnitude only stays buried due to one simple rule: join us or die.

When word of her discovery spreads to those whose sole purpose is to keep the secret buried, Dante’s greatest battle begins.

Alex must be silenced, and Dante is all that is standing in their way.

Can he truly save Alex? Or will Alex be yet another victim of knowing the Undeadly Secret?

Perfect for fans of True Blood and Underworld.

My Book Review:

So, Aaron is a new author for me, but having read the blurb I was most intrigued, especially since he won the 2017 International Vampire Film and Arts Festival Golden Stake Award for this book! I’m just sorry it’s taken me this long to read this!!

This is the first book in the Undeadly Secrets series, and I must say I really enjoyed it. To me it’s not a romance read, it is most definitely a suspense read with a touch of horror in there. Aaron does a good job with the world building with various chapters travelling back in time to explain just what has happened in the past. I also love the fact that this is set in Australia, puts a whole different feel on the story!!

Alex and Lauren are best friends and roommates. Alex has a long term boyfriend, Matt, and they are frequently together as a 3. Lauren is obsessed with a night club owner, Dante, but he shows absolutely no interest in Lauren, but gets on fabulously with Alex, who is equally enthralled with him, despite being with Matt, she sees Dante as just a good friend. Both Matt and Lauren are not impressed with this, in fact Lauren hooks up with a guy called Ryan in an attempt to make Dante jealous. Lauren ends up going back to Ryan’s flat and can’t seem to remember just what happened through the night with Ryan, but it seems he has video evidence!

Dante turns out to be a 250 yr old vampire, but stands out in his views from the rest of the vampires and the Royals that rule the vampire world, in the fact that he does not view the humans as just food for slaughter. He believes in the old world ways and treats the humans with respect and has a donor who he feeds from. He does not bow down to the Royal rulers or obey their laws really.

Things turn quite nasty as Ryan is not what he seems. You get to find out just why Dante is so interested in Alex, she is not really a stranger! You get some good background on his donor, Michelle, and understand just how close their relationship is, but not in a human romance term, but as donor and vampire.

This was a great start to the series for me, with lots of background info and world setting. Looking forward to reading more in this series!

About the Author:

Welcome to the Speerverse. If you are into vampires, werewolves, demons and all manner of deathly creatures, I encourage you to check out the Undeadly Secrets Series. Night Walker won the 2017 Golden Stake Award at the International Vampire Film and Arts Festival held in Transylvania annually.

The fourth Undeadly book released in early 2018 and I followed that with my first Contemporary Romance (MMA) release Undisputed in August of 2018 and it was awarded Best Book Of The Year. The second book Unbroken found its way onto kindles everywhere in 2019 before the 5th Undeadly released early 2020.

My favourite activities include spending time with family, dragging my forever patient wife to watch my beloved St George Illawarra Dragons, popping into the movies for the latest blockbusters, going to the gym for my dream body. Or just a body. Anything, really.

My beautiful wife and I welcomed our first child into the world in 2017. My fans declared him the Prince of Speerverse and claimed he seemed to take after me in his want to build the tension as high as possible… making us and our loved ones wait 3 long days for him to make his entrance. My wife and I live with the love of our lives in Sydney, Australia: the setting for the majority of my works.
