Amanda Richardson ~ Say You Hate Me ~ Book Review / Teasers

Title: Say You Hate Me
Series: Love at Work #4
Author: Amanda Richardson
Genre: Enemies to Lovers/Office Romance
Release Date: May 11, 2021

My love life would be almost comical if it weren’t so depressing. Why can’t romance be like it is in the novels I love? I stupidly assume things can’t get any worse, but then I get fired from my job. Good one, universe. Now I have no choice but to work for my brother and his surly business partner, Anderson.
We can’t seem to get on the same page about anything. He’s judgmental and rude, and I can’t stand him. To make matters even more trying, he’s ridiculously hot.
I never agreed to bring on a new marketing manager, and certainly not her. My business partner leads with his heart, and when he hires his sister, her ability to crawl under my skin is insurmountable.
So, why does she make my heart race every time she’s close? When things escalate, I lose all semblance of control, which just makes me angrier. I can’t keep my hands off her, even though she makes me crazy.
Hatred can drive a person insane, but so can love.

The Love at Work Series consists of interconnected standalones, all having to do with falling in love at work. They can be read in ANY order!

This was my first read by Amanda, and I loved it!!! An enemies-to-lovers / age-gap / forbidden / office read, full of hot sexy scenes and witty banter, that had me alternating between needing a cold shower and laughing out loud!!

I was hooked from the start with this one!! A lot of enemies-to-lovers reads can be a bit like, yeah I don’t like you so there and a bit playground school type tit for tat, but not with this one!! The main characters really did detest one another!!

Natalia has always had bad luck with her love life, it never goes smoothly, and she has just about given up hope after her last boyfriend and problems with his cat! She ends up getting fired from her job at a publishing agency and ends up going working in marketing for her twin brother Luca, who is a self made millionaire with his company Gather. Marketing is her niche and she jumps right in doing research and wanting to increase their online presence. However Luca took on a partner, Anderson, that she had never met, but when they do meet it is hate at first sight!!!

Anderson is the CFO for Gather, a health foods focused brand that are looking to expand. He is good friends with Luca and their have known each other a while and work well together, he is a hard nosed business partner knowing his facts and figures and it willing to push the boundaries and take risks, the opposite to Luca really, which is why they work so well together.

Natalia and Anderson’s relationship flits from hate to passion and everything in between. He pushes her buttons so then she pushes his…. the banter between these two is everything!!!

Told from dual POV’s you get more about Natalia than you do Anderson, but you find out enough about him to explain why he acts the way he does. He has had his ups and down but I really liked how he has turned his life around, once I understood him I loved him better!

I loved how Natalia didn’t back down from him, her attraction to him was undeniable, even though he was awful with her at times, she would give back as good as she got, getting under his skin in a way no one else has. Some of the hot sexy scenes between these two will leave you needing cold showers!!!

A brilliant read from start to finish, I loved how the characters developed as you got to know them. It was one of those books I didn’t want to put down once I had started. Powerful in its intensity for how much they disliked one another, to the steamy getting to know you parts. Highly recommended reading, I will be reading more from this author.

Amanda Richardson writes from her chaotic dining room table in Los Angeles, often distracted by her husband and two adorable sons. When she’s not writing contemporary and dark, twisted romance, she enjoys coffee (a little too much) and collecting house plants like they’re going out of style.
