THE NEXT MRS. RUSSO by Jana Aston
Release Date: June 22nd

I was not looking for a date.
Another questionable relationship was the last thing I needed.
Because trust me, they were all questionable.
But through a series of unfortunate events involving my cat and
his poor decision-making skills, I agreed to a set-up.
Except… the set-up is with the governor.
I am not political girlfriend material.
For one, I’m a little bit crazy.
For two, I have secrets.
But I also have a big crush on the governor.
My ARC Review:
It’s been a while since Jana has released any new material, so I was very excited waiting for this, and of course she didn’t disappoint!! The was a wonderful, fun, light hearted romp that brightened up my day!
Audrey has inherited a brownstone in Albany, leaving NYC behind, she attempts to set up a new business venture there, taking old vintage clothing and deconstructing them to make something new, but the house needs a lot of work and she needs some customers stat!! One of her first customers agrees to wear her dress to a function if Audrey will agree to go with her son to said function – her son turns out to be none other that Governor Warren Russo, who Audrey has had a crush on in like forever!
Audrey is quirky, funny, always running her mouth, saying things out loud when she didn’t mean to, is a genius with the clothes but thinks very little of herself and is very awkward. I loved her!!! Warren is nothing like her, he is quite a bit older, never giving anything away emotions wise. These two together are just brilliant. I loved watching their characters grow closer together.
There are some brilliant side characters in here that make this book even more enjoyable….. Miller is Audrey’s teenage sidekick who ‘works’ with her and is an absolute character, giving her lots of advice along the way. Gary the cat and Duke the dog also have starring roles in this, these two were also wonderful and made the reading that much more enjoyable and funnier.
The whole book is told from Audrey’s POV in her own very quirky fashion, I just wish we could’ve had the odd couple of chapters from Warren’s POV…. I would have loved to know what he was thinking about in certain parts of this book!!
A very entertaining read with a great story line, it’s certain to put a smile on your face.
