The Sinner by Emma Scott is now live!
Shy, introverted Lucy Dennings lives a quiet little life in New York City, working for a nonprofit and keeping to herself. Every afternoon, she goes home to her empty apartment and Edgar, her houseplant, and every night, she loses herself in the pages of her beloved romance novels. Her lonely heart seeks solace in tales of passionate, enduring, all-consuming love, but more and more, Lucy feels she’s not just reading for pleasure but searching for a lost piece of herself in the pages. As if she once touched something beautiful but it’s been ripped away.
Until one day Lucy discovers a dead body in the alley behind her apartment. Even if it’s too late, her first instinct is to help.
Her second is to run.
Because the dead body isn’t so very dead, and suddenly, her little world isn’t so little but one in which dreams feel like memories, “inner demons” actually lurk in dark alleys, and a beautiful creature of darkness with amber eyes and wings like night might hold the key to what her heart has been aching for…if she doesn’t fall down the path of eternal damnation first.
From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Emma Scott, comes an emotional paranormal love story of passion, sacrifice, and the soul-deep love of a lifetime…more than one.

My ARC Review:
What a stunning read from Emma!! A highly emotional, profound, touching and paranormal love story that really hit home hard with me. Set in the modern day world yet also spanning eons, a layered world of our normal with an overlay of the paranormal, about true love and how it spans time, about our human existence and our daily lives, mixed with the supernatural and the realms beyond ours.
From the first page I was completely engrossed and it was one of those books you just had to keep reading, that touched me on many personal levels the more I read. I’m a firm believer of the balance, of both good and evil in our world, so this really hit home with me.
A very intense read, very emotional, even more so with the paranormal aspects of it for me, with Emma’s use of the way we talk to ourselves every day and how we put ourselves down explained in a very believable paranormal way in this book.
But the whole story revolves around love, your one true love, the one that defies time, in this case it’s Cas and Lucy’s story….. its heartbreaking and soul destroying in places and had me weeping for them. Emma has put her heart and soul into this one, and you can tell when you read it, how profound it is and how it hits those nerves. A very personal story for her, that touched me deeply having lost 2 family members in the last 6 months, a testament to how well this story is written.
I loved this one so much, not to be missed, whether PNR is your thing or not, its the love story that will capture your heart and soul and make you believe.
