Blurb:

My name is Jake Sheppard and I’m ambivalent about Christmas and the Christmas-themed town I grew up in. But when I find out my late uncle left me an old barn and acres of land, the decision to return home to build my dream golf course is an easy one.

Imagine my surprise when I arrive and find out I have a squatter.

An incredibly sexy squatter, with wavy blonde hair, green eyes, a free spirit… and a herd of goats.

Lexi hates my guts. Apparently evicting a non-paying non-tenant and her goats weeks before Christmas is grounds for war.

Except Lexi’s version of war includes flinging her clothing at me and, as it turns out, I might be in way over my head with this girl…

My ARC Review:

The 2nd book in Jana’s latest Reindeer Falls trilogy, and I found myself liking and enjoying this one a lot more than Elves with Benefits! I understood and enjoyed the chemistry and attraction between our two main characters, Sutton and Jake, and loved all the little side characters….. the goats!

Sutton is one of a trio of friends, with Maggie the Christmas Cop being the top of Elves with Benefits. Sutton is nothing like Maggie! She has been brave with her life choices and stood up to her parents about what she wanted to do and set out and did it, not giving in to the pressure of living up to their choices.

Sutton finds and rescues a baby goat she found on the side of the road and takes it home, and thus begins her new life. She moves out and gets herself set up in a mobile home she wins and finds an old barn with some land where she settles down on to be with her goat, well goats as she adopts quite a few more. She sets about using her goats to make produce like soap and sells her products in town and on Etsy.

The Sheppard brothers are back in town, Jake is a lawyer and plans to convert the old barn he has into a local golf course, only he turns up to find Sutton and her goats all over the place! Of course they clash and the goats don’t help, but they end up sharing close quarters and their attraction bubbles over into sharing, but only for one night!

Quick, fun, fast paced and festive…. I enjoyed their chemistry and attraction, we don’t get an awful lot of background on Jake which was a shame, but still I am looking forward to the last in this latest trilogy.

About the Author:

Jana Aston likes cats, big coffee cups and books about billionaires who deflower virgins. She wrote her debut novel while fielding customer service calls about electrical bills, and she’s ever grateful for the fictional gynecologist in Wrong that readers embraced so much she was able to make working in her pajamas a reality. Jana’s novels have appeared on the NYT, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists, some multiple times. She likes multiples.
