Gibson’s Legacy

Last Score #1

K.L. Shandwick

Gibson Barclay has been famous for almost seven years and he’s only twenty four.

Seldom does anyone pick up a magazine, newspaper or watch a television entertainment show, without seeing his image or reading about his promiscuous antics . He had no need to court publicity with his magnetic charm and charismatic ways; when he chooses to cooperate that is. Shrugging off the advice of publicists and image consultants, Gibson makes no excuses for who he is, and with no ties, he answers to no one about how he chooses to live his life. From teenage musician to twenties mega rock star, Gibson has seen and done it all. Women fantasize about him and men envy his rock scene, womanizing lifestyle. Only one person ever made Gibson feel uncomfortable about the way he lived his life. No one ever said no to him that he can remember, although there were two minute events that he has never been able to shake from his mind. Both of those events involved the way Chloe Jenner looked at him. It was something and nothing, but for him, the impact haunted him. In the strangest twist of fate, something so wildly obscure occurred, that set his mind ablaze with the memory of that small encounter. Like all women, Chloe found Gibson striking and had even shared with her friends, her own guilty fantasy about him. Fantasy and reality were poles apart and Chloe believed that Gibson Barclay never even knew that she existed.

Coming eye to eye with Gibson Barclay while he was b*lls deep in some ‘lucky’ girl was heart stopping. So what did I do? Run? Nope. I froze!

The guy was every inch a rock star, in our bar at least. Pretty girls fought each other to be next in line for their few hours of fun with the scandalously, shameless, manwhore.

Naturally, he was hot-as-sin to look at, but even if he had only been a six instead of a ten, his s*xy, flirty vibe, and his dirty talking ways would still have gotten him laid.

Not my type of guy at all, I thought. Until years later, when a second chance to meet him made me wonder if there could possibly be much more to Gibson than the legacy I had once known him for.

“It is truly an art when a writer makes you love a man you might not totally love in real, and I always close a KL Shandwick book loving her men.” Susan Ward Author.

Join Chloe and Gibson in the start of an angsty, thrilling ride through rockstar romance with Gibson’s Legacy, the first in the Last Score series.

My Review:

The first book in this Last Score series by KL, and here we meet rockstar and sex god extraordinaire Gibson Barclay!!

The book starts when Gibson and his band are just starting in the music business playing gigs at local bars, where he meets bartender Chloe, who catches him with his trolleys down on a couple of occasions banging a willing female fan! She is shocked by what she sees but this plays away in her fantasy of being with Gibson herself, but she knows she is just a plain jane and completely out of his league, they live completely different lives.

Gibson was fascinated with Chloe from his first sighting, something about her drew out feelings he had never had for another girl before. But they never got to know each other as she kept running away from him especially after catching him in some compromising positions!

A few years later and the band have hit the big time and are one of the top bands in the world. It is by pure chance (or fate maybe) that they reconnect by a wrong number phone call from Gibson to Chloe!

I really enjoyed this one! Both Gibson and Chloe are broken in different ways….. Gibson’s childhood was not the best and his reputation has followed him around, with his music company promoting his bad boy image. But no one really knows the real him underneath all that rockstar image. Chloe is broken after being abused and beaten by her ex-boyfriend who she managed to escape from. But her spirit is shattered, and she has absolutely no trust in men.

The lengths Gibson goes to for Chloe to get to know her shows just how much she is in his thoughts, but of course Chloe has no concept of this and thinks he is just after one thing after which she will be discarded.

A great story that is quite emotional at times, the characters I loved and watching them grow together was really something. Looking forward to reading the next one in this series.
