Samantha Young ~ Always You ~ Release Blitz / Teasers / ARC Review

Always You by Samantha Young is now live!

Arrochar Adair has loved her brother’s ex-bodyguard and best friend, Mac Galbraith, for years. Once upon a time, she was too young for him, but now that she’s a mature woman in her thirties, Arro can see no issue with their difference in age. Yet something deeper, a problem much more difficult to surmount, is keeping them apart.

Mac Galbraith remembers clearly the night Arro became everything to him, no longer just his best friend and boss’s younger sister. However, having made many mistakes over the years, there is one mistake Mac is determined not to make: to believe that he is worthy of Arrochar Adair. Allowing them to grow closer during his daughter, Robyn’s, return has proven his undoing. And when Arro forces the subject of their relationship, his response pushes her away. He just never meant for it to destroy them completely.

Devastated by Mac’s final rejection, Arro is determined to move on without him in her life, though he seems intent on staying put. And when the Adair family face a new threat, one that may have ties to Mac’s past, Arro can’t seem to be rid of the man. In fact, Mac will do anything to protect her.

But with so much hurt between them, will Arro let Mac close enough to guard her from their enemy… before it’s too late?

My ARC Review:

We are back in the wonderful Highlands of Scotland and the Adair family….. if you’ve read the previous two books in this series you will have been watching Mac and Arro’s story building through these, watching the back and forth, the undeniable connection…. here we get their full story!

Mac is the head of security at Ardnoch castle and best friends with Arro’s brother Lachlan……. Arro has been in lust with Mac since he arrived at the castle while she was a teenager growing up with him around, as he is 13 years older than him. Her lust and fantasies turned into something deeper as she grew up, they had always been friends, but she was hoping for something more with him.

Mac has always been friendly with Arro, trying his best to hide his feelings and desire for her, she is off the list, the younger sister of his boss and best friend, and he is undeserving of her, not good enough for her, has done things in his past that prevent him from believing there is any good left in him, and so tries to keep her at a distance, but she is persistent and lines get crossed a few times, before he pulls himself back and keeps away. But he is sending mixed signals to Arro, who is struggling with her feelings for him…..

Argh this was a delightful read, I enjoyed it a lot, but I was frustrated with both Mac and Arro with the push and pull between them and their lack of communication, it was heartbreaking to watch at times! It’s a bit of an emotional rollercoaster with these two and how they get along, until it comes to the crunch and Mac realises he must sort himself out, he has some counselling, which helps him realise how and why he behaves like he does.

There is some angsty drama and suspense as a new threat is unveiled to the family, but Arro is the target, which puts Mac and her brothers in full protective mode. But Arro is a strong independent woman and wants to just get on with her life as normal, which of course is impossible with the men in her life!

I loved these two, but it was a bumpy ride for them to get their HEA, lots going on in both their pasts that got in the way, but it was worth it in the end! A fab read, I love this series and the family connection the Adair’s have with each other. I’m very much looking forward to the next book in this series.
