My ARC Review:

This is a revised and lengthened version of a previously published story Mob Mistress – I haven’t read this previous verion, which I think had cheating and a married man in, this new version does not have these in and is a fabulous read I could not put down!

Lexi is a young woman having a difficult time, she is behind in rent on her flat and behind on the rent of the ‘chair’ where she does her hairstyling, all due to having a car accident and not being covered with her insurance, so she has medical bills on top. Her best friend Gina works in a bar and suggests to Lexi that she needs a Sugar Daddy to help her out. Lexi didn’t even know such a thing existed, until she meets mob boss Bobby.

Bobby is an older guy, he’s been married, got kids, doesn’t want all the trappings of a relationship and all the feelings associated with it, he’s been there and done that. He likes being a Sugar Daddy, being dominant and in control in the bedroom, having a woman at his beck and call when he needs them, in return he treats her right, sets her up financially and looks after her in many ways, just keeping the emotional attachment out of it. But he’s also a mafia boss, the women he gets involved with have to have no knowledge of his business dealings, for his sake and theirs.

Bobby steps in and rescues Lexi from a man in the bar who won’t take no for an answer, and they soon agree to give the ‘Sugar Daddy’ thing a road test to see how compatible they are. Lexi finds herself very turned on with Bobby and his dominant ways, wanting to please him, liking his praise. Bobby finds Lexi gorgeous and finds she has a submissive streak, along with like a bit of pain, a perfect match for him. But things with the ‘Family’ start to get a bit hairy as the Feds move in and start investigating Bobby and his businesses, and an ex-girl of Bobby’s won’t take no for an answer.

I really loved these two together! Their chemistry together is explosive – Lexi is a good, caring person who hates being in the position she is in and having to rely on Bobby financially, she’s embarrassed to find herself in that predicament. But Bobby is lovely with her, very protective towards her, willing to give her anything she needs, regarding her as his in every way, yet he has to be very careful to keep his business dealings away from her, especially with the Feds poking about.

A great read – a good mix of mafia / age gap / daddy / bdsm / protector all rolled into one!
