My Book Review:
The first book in this series by Willow all about a pack of shifter wolves who are protecting the human town of Shadow Falls from other supernaturals, like vampires – in return an offering of girls aged between 18-21 is given to the pack, but no one has been taken in years…..
Gracie and Lizzie are best friends who live together, both have had a traumatic early life but in different ways, they found one another and have come to rely on one another whilst growing up. Now it’s their turn at the offering. Both girls end up being picked, but instead of docilely going with the shifters, as was the norm, it turns into screaming and panic and horror before they are taken away.
It turns out that Gracie is the mate of the Alpha, the pack leader, Devin. He spotted her over a year ago and has had to wait to claim her. Lizzie is the mate of his two Beta pack members, Dom and Caleb.
Both girls appear to know nothing about the shifters, Gracie definitely doesn’t and has no idea what to expect now that she has been taken. Lizzie is hiding a secret, even her best friend knows nothing about, and knows more about the wolves that she is letting on.
Devin tries his best to reassure Gracie that everything will be fine, that they are protected and nothing will happen, but she is going into heat and he is unable to resist her and to keep away from her. He expects her to follow his orders when in front of the other pack members, not to disobey, but she has some Alpha in her and pushes his buttons both in private and in front of the pack!
The story is told from various POV’s as we learn both Gracie and Lizzie’s story in this. Expect lots of hot Alpha passionate scenes, with dominance and kink, with some m/f/m action as well. I enjoyed the story, but it was a little on the short side, ending just as you were getting stuck in!
