Forgotten Brotherhood Book 6
by N.J. Walters
Genre: Paranormal Romance
It’s taken Viking hunter Sven Knutson six frustrating months to find her. To track down the angel responsible for compromising the Forgotten Brotherhood and waking the drakon. She may be clever. Resourceful. But no one ever gets away from Sven. Ever.
All Rivka longed for as an angel was a chance to serve on Earth and help humans. Instead, it all went impossibly, horribly wrong, and she still doesn’t understand how or even why. All she knows is that she’s on the run—not only from Heaven’s dangerous elite guard, but also from the Brotherhood, who want answers.
She might just have to trust the immortal Viking whose icy blue eyes make her feel almost wickedly human. Because someone wants Rivka dead and the Brotherhood eliminated. Someone powerful enough to take on the most dangerous assassins who have ever lived. Someone who could unleash the fury of both Heaven and Hell…and Rivka is the key.
Each book in the Forgotten Brotherhood series is STANDALONE:

His jaw and cheekbones were chiseled, his forehead high. The short cut of his hair added to the austerity of his features. There was no gentleness to be found. The leather coat he wore added to the rough image, made him seem even more imposing. A chill raced down her spine. This man would be a relentless opponent. He also wasn’t human, but she couldn’t tell what he was.
Time to leave.
Face tight, she tried to smile, knew it must appear fake, but it was the best she could manage. “If there’s nothing else, I have to get back to my tables.”
Her legs were shaky, her heart racing. This must be what a rabbit felt like when faced with a wolf. Running would be a mistake. He hadn’t moved a muscle, but the sense of being hunted was overwhelming.
You got this. You’ve gotten yourself out of tighter situations.
The reassurance did nothing to calm her.
I haven’t read any of this previous series, but found this read really well as a standalone, making me want to read the previous books I had missed in the Forgotten Brotherhood!
Sven is an immortal assassin, who used to be the hunter for Freya until she let him go, and he is the newest member of the Forgotten Brotherhood – he has been tasked in hunting down an angel involved in plot against the Brotherhood, he is eager to get to his prey and prove himself capable as a member of the Brotherhood. But it’s taken 6 months to find her…..
Rivka is an angel on the run from everyone and its taking all her powers of cunning and intelligence to keep ahead of the game. Her dream of helping humans on Earth has been shattered, she doesn’t know by who or why, but feels she has been set up to take the fall, and wants to prove her innocence. But the Legions of Heaven are after her, able to trace her use of any powers, so she has to move around a lot, trying her best to be very careful, unaware that she has been tracked by Sven to where she works…..
Sven is an immortal Viking and the best at what he does, yet Rivka leaves him feeling things, something he is unused to, and he’s not sure what to do about it. For Rivka when she is with Sven she feels more alive than she ever has, but she knows that anything she has with Sven is just temporary, until she is caught and returned to Heaven.
A great read, I thoroughly enjoyed Sven and Rivka’s connection and the battle against the Angels, trying their best to find out who was behind the set up. Lots of fight scenes, magic, spells and danger round every corner – not all angels are all goodness and light! Will definitely go back and read the previous books in the series after reading this one.

Once upon a time N.J. had the idea that she would like to quit her job at the bookstore, sell everything she owned, leave her hometown, and write romance novels in a place where no one knew her. And she did. Two years later, she went back to the bookstore and her hometown and settled in for another seven years.
One day she gave notice at her job on a Friday morning. On Sunday afternoon, she received a tentative acceptance for her first romance novel and life would never be the same.
