MY ARC REVIEW:
Book 2 in this trilogy, picks up immediately after book 1 Shadow Wolf, so make sure you’ve read that first.
Adri has been taken back to the Willow Creek pack – her once best friend Zade, who she was originally betrothed to, has taken her back under a cloud of lies, Adri has agreed to go with him in order to stave off a war. Zade is now the Alpha leader of Willow Creek pack, with Adri leaving it forced him into his Alpha stage early, but he’s not the boy and best friend she used to know, something dark and malevolent has taken root in him, and she is fearful for her life whilst she is there with him.
Adri’s mate Phoenix has sworn to do everything in his power to get her back. He is out to prove that the Willow Creek leaders have stolen lots of shifter babies over the years, not only Adri, and has set up some DNA processing to get it proved and get the families back together, along with getting his mate returned to him.
The only things keeping Adri going is the mental communication she has with Phoenix, who talks to her all the time, reassuring her, mentally pleasuring his mate as well. Her sister Dee is also determined to protect Adri and involves herself in a small group of shifters who know they don’t belong in that pack. Dee starts collaborating information with Phoenix’s enforcer, Kaz, who’s story is going to get a spin off book from this!
Lots going on in this to keep you on your toes, lots of emotions running high as they race to find the answers before Adri is forced to marry Zade, it will have you on the edge of your seat as you will Phoenix along to go and get his mate! There are some hot and steamy parts as well of course, with the added extra of knots in the omegaverse passion! I love the building intrigue between Dee and Kaz and can’t wait for their story.
Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish, I didn’t want to put it down once I had started, needing to know how everything was going to be resolved for all the families concerned! Lots of plot twists and turns with an ending that has you eager for the last book in this trilogy!
