A fantastic start to Amy’s new series! If you’ve ready any of Amy’s books before you know how unique and how addictive these are, this one is no exception – a single dad / small town / grumpy-sunshine / nanny / suspense read that delivers all the feels!!

Caleb is the owner of a very large company having taken over when his dad died, but he had black marks on his soul from what he has done for his dad to get the company where it is. His mission in life is to find the man who destroyed his soul – he has moved States and takes over a large ranch with his little girl, Evelyn, in tow to be near his distant family in order to keep her safe. He is badly broken, grumpy and feels unable to connect to Evelyn to give her what she needs. Evelyn loves horses and has one of her own on the ranch, and Caleb needs someone to teach her how to be with her horse, his family have recommended Paisley Dae to help.

Paisley is back in her hometown living with her Grandpa after having her heart broken. She is looking to find herself and start picking up the pieces of her life again and it has been shattered. Her meeting with Caleb starts with a bang, literally, and they do not see eye to eye. He is grumpy, bossy, overbearing and obnoxious, despite the fact he is the hottest thing she has ever seen, he rubs her up the wrong way.

They have an instant spark and attraction to each other, but clash terribly – Caleb can’t seem to resist Paisley’s siren call to him, distracting him from his revenge mission, warning her off all the time, feeling he is just not good enough for her with his dark past. Paisley and Evelyn get on like a house on fire and Paisley swiftly falls in love with this adorable little girl and will do anything for her. Her attraction to Caleb is undeniable, she see past his mask to the man underneath and is determined to be there for him no matter what. But when Caleb dark past catches up with him can he keep the two women in his life safe?

A fabulous read, I love the back and forth between Caleb and Paisley, with the cuteness of Evelyn topping off the story line. Lots of feels with some hot and steamy scenes. some drama / suspense to keep you on your toes, twists in the plot line you won’t see coming and a whole boatload of emotions thrown in there as well. Not to be missed if you’re a fan of Amy’s writing.
