My ARC Review:

This is the first book in a spin off series from the Monsters of Saint Marks world – it’s not absolutely necessary to have read these but there is some character crossover which you will miss the connection for.

Eros is the disgraced God of Love, banished to live in Savage Falls where he rules over as an MC President type, unable to leave the town’s foggy edges or forever be lost wandering around the mists. There are many monsters here in Savage Falls, many who used to be magic or important and have been reduced to next to nothing with no magic….. or a human.

Callista used to be the Queen of Vinca, ruling her domain until she was punished and banished to Savage Falls as a human. She dresses and acts like a crazy person after losing everything she has, her own way of dealing with what she has left, nothing.

Eros is doomed never to be able to love, hate is his soulmate. He has been sleeping with Callista for a few months, neither looking for anything out of it, until Callista discovers a door, a portal which can be used to leave Savage Falls, and Eros is not letting her leave without him.

An adventure full of gods, time travel, portals, magic and monsters…… twists and turns galore so pay attention. Love the character building with these two, Callista shouting at everyone to ‘call me queen’ was fabulous, and Eros coming to terms with the fact that he likes and needs Callista, and they end up as soul mates, eventually.
