🔥Touch her and die

A laugh out loud, unconventional opposites attract love story from New York Times bestselling author Melanie Moreland –

I touched her confectionary creation, and she told me off.

Slapping my hands and cursing in her own unique fashion.

No one talked to me that way.

I liked it.

I liked her cake even more.

So, I took her to Italy to bake for me.

I should have asked her first, but I had a feeling she’d say no.

I brought her cat, though—that should count for something.

Now, I just need to convince her to stay.

And forget that little word.

I’d prefer lover.

But we’ll wait until she doesn’t want to kill me in my sleep.

I really enjoyed this one from Melanie – sweet, funny, sexy with a hint of danger and suspense along with a slight dark undertone – a young artistic baker barely keeping her head above water and an older rich art gallery owner (amongst other things) with an incredibly sweet tooth, who won’t take no and running away as an answer!

Brianna is a very talented baker, creating the most impressive art out of her cakes, her latest creation being for her friend’s wedding. But life is anything but easy for her, having come from foster homes, she works several jobs to keep her afloat including the local bakery where her boss lets her use the ovens, freezer and van for her arty cakes, charging her a fortune and leaving Brianna with practically nothing.

Dante is scoping out the wedding venue of his God-daughter, when he spots a masterpiece of a wedding cake, with a few spare cupcakes at the side he would say are going to waste, so he eats them, thinks they are the best thing he has ever tasted, and goes back for more. Brianna wastes no time telling him off big style for pinching her cakes. No one ever talks to Dante like that, and he likes it, taking an instant liking to this small spitfire of a woman as much as he likes her cakes. Dante is determined to get better acquainted with Brianna, his ‘little bee’, and puts a plan into action which involves kidnapping her to his Italian villa, where she must bake him 60 cakes before he will let her go!

I loved these two together – he is grumpy, uptight and not someone to be messed with – she is a ray of brightness, caring and a real spitfire, prepared to stand up for herself against him, until of course he makes her melt! Some great banter and laugh out loud moments – Brianna does not swear and the one liners she comes out with made me chortle. They are so right for each other, he made her see her life in a different way and she saw through him, understood him, made him soften and laugh, and of course made the best cakes in the world! Another fantastic epilogue by Melanie that gives us a glimpse into the future life of Dante and his little bee right at the end, just wonderful! Loved the cover, when you read the book you will appreciate just how much this is them!
