A new duet set in the IVI world, full of mystery and suspense….. a dark curse that binds two families together and a sacrifice that must be made…..
Easily read as a standalone but would recommended reading the other IVI books for some more background and world building.
This is a slow build with lots of mystery surrounding the history and background to this one, where two families have been cursed centuries ago. Willow was born with the mark indicating that she would be given as a Tithe to Azrael’s family when the time came. Willow understands that means she has to marry the man she has grown to hate and leave her parents and siblings behind, little does she know just how much of a sacrifice she is expected to make…..
Azrael’s family is one of the founding members of the IVI, and has always known he must marry a girl and do what must be done in order to keep the rest of his family safe, having already lost one brother and his younger sister was very poorly, he was prepared to do anything to save them. But he was not expecting the chemistry between him and Willow, he need only take her once according to his Grandmother and then be rid of her, but he found he was unable to keep away, unable to keep his hands off her, she had woven some kind of spell and gotten under his skin…..
Lots going on in here and the plot twists and turns took me in a different direction than I thought it would. Loved the connection between Azrael and Willow….. she is a strong, fierce character, yet so very caring and really wanted to help Azrael’s sister and find out just what was going on. Some hot steamy scenes when these two get together and give themselves over to their chemistry. Looking forward to the second book in this duet to see how it will all play out.
