My ARC Review:
This is book 1 in a new series all about wolf shifters and their pack, born into this world and able to shift at will or can be made ‘were’ by a bite and only shifting on a full moon without the control. In this world the male shifters are born with a tattoo of a wolf that grows and puts itself together like a jigsaw piece, filling in on triggers, ie aggression. When the tattoo is complete the wolf turns rogue and will attack the family and so needs to be put down at that point. The only way to stop this happening is by meeting their one and only fated mated, only she has the ability to make them whole and stop them turning rogue.
Mackenzie is a human working for her employer to keep her sister safe, who they have kidnapped in order to make Kenzie do whatever they want. She witnesses something she shouldn’t and ends up being taken to a lab where she’s going to end up as a lab rat.
Jaxx is a wolf shifter, a member of the pack who end up attacking the lab facility Kenzie is in. When he sees her he knows he has found his mate, and will do anything to protect her and to be able to claim her as his mate. But it is not clear just who’s side Kenzie is working for….
A good read once I eventually got into it. When I first started reading it I wasn’t sure if I had missed a book as it seemed to be missing some info and the storyline was a bit patchy, but when I got into it I enjoyed the story line. I liked the characters and the world that has been built, it certainly leaves it very open for more books in this series. The mates when they eventually got together were very good together and worked well, the chemistry between them being hot and steamy. I look forward to seeing where this series goes!
