My ARC Review:

Wow, what a read this was!! This is not for the faint hearted by any means…. it is dark, intense, violent and dirty with dub/con, so be warned before dipping your toes in this pond!!

Jasper is an assassin for mob boss Lucio Costa, he feels he owes Lucio as he was rescued as a teenager, so he has been himself top dog at killing for Lucio. Jasper never stays in one place for too long, never does relationship, and is committed to doing whatever Lucio wants.

Georgina is a nurse at the local hospital, she has been brought up in foster homes all her life, and has flashbacks to dark and terrifying times she can’t remember. She is quiet, has a couple of nurse friends and 2 cats at home in her apartment and hardly ever goes out. She has a darker side which no one knows about, dark sexual fantasies which she keeps under wraps and is ashamed of.

Jasper sees Georgie at the hospital whilst on a job for Lucio, he sees her give another nurse a fake smile, and it smitten by her and wants to know her story, if she is hiding something. He becomes her stalker, he is obsessed with her but isn’t sure whether to find out more and have her once or just kill her and move on. But the once is not enough, as Georgie’s dark side comes out to play, and ‘Petal’ as he calls her turns into his Pet as he uses her desires against her.

There’s a massive twist at the end of the book that you just didn’t see coming that alters everything going forward.

This certainly kept me riveted, but I don’t know whether I like the characters or not. Jasper is quite a nasty character, he is abusive with Georgie, their connection is based on their darker desires, lust and depravity, not love, so it’s difficult to get their connection. Georgie just can’t help giving in to her base desires around Jasper, the more dark, dirty and depraved the harder she falls. So I am very interested to see where book 2 will take us.

If you like a dark and twisted read that will push your boundaries, this is for you.
