Blurb:

Never sell your soul to the Demon King.

Too late.

In an effort to save all that I love, I have to finish the job Nyfain started… and ruin myself.

I’ve made a trade with the most cunning creature alive.

Me for them.

The dungeons will be my new home. Dolion’s destruction will be my new goal.

I just have to get out of here and back to my golden dragon. Preferably alive.

My ARC Review:

Oh my goodness, I was in a state of breathless anticipation reading this one!! I found myself holding my breath whilst reading….. it was such an intense and gripping read!! You know what you’re in for if you’ve read the past two books in this series – it is very dark and dirty, full of demons and orgies, dubious situations, dangerous dragons and a mate bond that proves distance means nothing when you need love and support.

Finley has been taken prisoner by Dolion the Demon King and put into his dungeons, where she meets a whole new range of characters who test her mettle. Finley’s original thought of an easy escape is proving to be anything but, as she is tortured for her power and for the sheer hell of it. But Dolion’s castle holds many who she could help but who could also help her, from shifters to fairies, but getting to communicate with them is nigh on impossible, and her escape is looking to be a distant dream.

Nyfain is distraught at the loss of Finley, but he needs to help his people after the release of the curse, who need his Alpha power in order to draw out their suppressed animals after being in the curse for so long. He can feel everything that Finley feels through their mate bond and helps her by pumping love and support through to her when he can and distracting her from the pain being inflicted and replacing it with passion.

Hadriel is trying his best to help Nyfain, but to be honest it takes all his bravery just to open his mouth and speak to Nyfain with the thunderous moods he has. Time is ticking along and it looks like Finley is no closer to escaping, so Hadriel has come up with Plan B where he, Leela and Finley’s brother Hannon purposely get captured and taken to Dolion’s castle, in the hope of getting in there and helping Finley. But the castle’s parties where the shifters are brought out and bid upon to be used are much tamer than what was happening in Nyfain’s castle due to the demons, so Hadriel and Leela set about corrupting them as a distraction to help Finley get the communication channels open to the other shifters and fairies.

Most of the plot in this one takes place in Dolion’s castle with Finley and is told from her POV, but there are other POV’s from Nyfain and Hadriel in this, which was a great addition to see things from his POV, how his genius problem solving mind works as well as all the banter that comes out of his mouth – some of his lines had me in hysterics! Hannon is brilliant in this one, always there for Finley, being the brother we all wish we had. There is some resolution at the end of this but then there is also a big hook leading to the next book, with a hell of a lot more to come, but the waiting for book 4 is going to be intolerable!!
