My ARC Review:
A new book in the Zandian Brides series – it’s been a while since I’ve read one of these! In this one we have Deven, a purple horned alien who rescues Sia and is tasked with finding out what she knows, using good old Zandian disciple methods!
Sia is a slave to the Ocretion species, who has been altered and operated on by the Ocretions in order to be used as a spy. She and her female companions are rescued from a remote outpost by Deven and his friend Axe, who are trying to get intel on the Ocretions and hear Sia’s distressed call. They manage to rescue the humans and take them back to Zandia, where the doctor examines them. They all have telltale surgery marks on theirs heads but the doctor is unable to find anything amiss. So Deven is tasked with taken Sia as her new Master in order to try and find out what they know.
Sia is frightened and confused, even after being rescued by the Zandians. Her memory is not right, her head is not right, she keeps having flashbacks, there are whirring noises in her head and terrible pains. She can remember things in graphic detail and copy what she sees, but knows there are things she is unable to tell Deven, no matter how much she hates lying to him, for fear of what might happen to her and her friends, but is unable to tell this to Deven.
Zandians have found spanking to be a good way to bond with the humans, who respond well to their forms of discipline and pleasure when mixed together. Deven knows Sia is lying to him, but does not know why. The last human he trusted broke his heart and put his planet in danger, he has vowed never to be put in that position again, so must find out what Sia is hiding and why.
I loved how their bond formed – Deven and Sia were attracted to each other from the start and their bond grew in strength, even though Sia continued to lie, which she hated to do. Deven was happy he was getting some information from Sia, but knew she was still hiding something from him, he just hoped there was no danger involved for his people!
A good sci fi / alien read with plenty of heat and discipline thrown in there – a good addition to this series!
