MY ARC REVIEW:

Book 1 in a new Omegaverse series from Zoey – I loved this, a brilliant start to a new series, full of Alpha/Omega and magic!

The Known Lands are made up of 3 different continents – Naya is the revered princess and heir of one of them, the strongest Omega that has been taught to fight like a warrior but also has the strongest magic use in the land. Her mother and father are a fated Alpha/Omega pair and she has seen just how good their ruling of the land between them is, and feels that is she cannot find her own fated mate then she would not be a good enough ruler. As such she has spent much of her time setting up meetings with Alphas to find her mate, without success.

But something tragic happened in her past when she was trying to help the people of her land contain the wild magic that destroys things, something that gives her nightmares, something she cannot recover from and shakes her confidence at one day being a leader of her people.

Her solace is the forest – she goes there to relax and unwind from everything around her – only accessible with her magic, she is safe and secure in there….. until she is kidnapped and taken away to a strange land.

Akoro is fighting for his own people’s survival and kidnaps Naya against her will in the hope that she will help him – against her own people! But he is a cruel and cold hearted Alpha, determined to use her and force her to obey him, she is captured and forced to endure his abuse – Naya is powerless to prevent him, her magic does not work the way it should, the people who have kidnapped her speak a different language and the landscape and animals are so different, she has no idea where she is!

Naya is horrified when being near Akoro and subjected to his abuse triggers her Omega instincts and she realises he is her mate, but does not react the way a mate should react with his Omega!

This was a brilliant read that left me with so many questions about the different worlds and the magic there, about how the Omegas are different and why. Lots of plot twists going on – it really kept those pages turning!

I loved Naya, she is such a strong and feisty character, all about standing up for Omegas and determined not to lose herself to her instincts along the way.

Akoro is very harsh with her at first, but you find out why as the story progresses.

A great start to a new series, I can’t wait to read more of this!
